Michael is a highly qualified and seasoned talent development professional. Having more than 30 years of hands on experience within the private, public and multinational sectors, he now dedicates his efforts in sharing his knowledge and skills in developing people and organisations, focused on delivering key training programmes such as Management and Leadership, Human Resources Management, Performance Management, Strategic Thinking and Planning, Change Management, Coaching and Mentoring and Process Management.

Academically, Michael holds a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Louvain La Neuve in Belgium and a Certificate from the University of Leyde (Netherlands) in International and European Law and International Arbitration. Additionally, he also holds a Certificate from the University of Leuven (Belgium) as HSE Advisor – Level 2. More recently, Michael achieved certification from the MIT-Sloan School of Management (Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA) in Leading Organisational Change. He is also a member of the Community of French speaking lawyers in Dubai.

Having graduated as Masters in Laws in Belgium, Michael started his career in 1987 as in-house lawyer in major companies in Belgium. His passion for people management led him to also take charge of social and employment related matters, as HR Manager. The huge developments of the UAE brought him to Dubai in 2007 to take charge of people management in various large construction and engineering companies in civil and oil and gas sectors. Up to this date, Michael continues to pursue his life and work objectives dedicated to servicing and sharing of knowledge. He has not left the Middle East since and shares his time between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, enjoying an ever-increasing responsibility to support employers and employees alike.

As a trainer, Michael has spent considerable efforts in understanding the subtle and complex mechanisms of leadership and management, emphasising the peculiar interactions between human and organisational factors. His interests in organisational changes, human developments and impact theories on action and reaction, combined with the unpredictability of the human factor, retained highest attention when setting up international talent development programmes in large multinational companies.

Michael has a very charismatic training style which is welcoming and creates a relaxed atmosphere, where he feels people learn their best. Using a combination of practical activities, reflective reviews, and group discussions, learners are guided through an explorative learning process, allowing them to make decisions and experience the consequences of those decisions.
