Overview

Whether you are persuading colleagues, selling to a client or energising a team, the power of your presentation skills makes the difference between success and failure. When delivered with confidence and impact, successful presentations provide an opportunity to inform, inspire and influence an audience. Each participant will make two to three presentations which will be videoed for further analysis and feedback. This unique experience will give delegates the skills that will make speaking in public less terrifying and more enjoyable. It includes topics that delegates can look forward to, including: creating a compelling speech, using various types of visual aids, and engaging the audience.

Day One
Pre-workshop preparation – ‘show us’!
  • Your first presentation (approximately, 5 minutes)
  • Feedback on effectiveness of delivery style
  • Evaluate your own strengths and areas for development
  • Action points to work on for the final presentation
Breaking the ‘ice’
  • Using presenter gadgets
  • Basics of presentations; where to stand, when to talk, where to position the audience
  • Professional conduct for presentations
  • Dealing with ‘silence’ during presentations and meetings
  • Keeping your audience focused on you
It’s SHOWTIME
  • ‘Walk the walk’ and ‘talk the talk’
  • The impact your tone of voice has on an audience
  • Using professional, culturally sensitive and easy to understand words

Day Three

Methodology

The foundation of our training is anchored in activity-based experiential learning. Upon completion of this workshop, delegates will complete an action learning plan identifying which concepts from the workshop to apply back at work. All video recordings will also be sent to the delegates for their own review and self-awareness. The methodology in this workshop takes into consideration different learning and communication styles, and more importantly language and cultural differences. It is through active participation that the adoption and application of theory is expedited.
