Gael Rowland
Management Trainer and Consultant

Gael Rowland is a motivated, energetic individual who is passionate about skills development in the workplace. Gael’s career started in the Accounting Software industry in Johannesburg, South Africa.  She began her career in telephonic support and quickly moved onto onsite installation and training of accounting systems. It was during her time consulting with clients that she developed her passion for skills development. To nurture this passion Gael, went on to manage and lead an internal training team for a leading accounting software company. Part of her duties during this time was to mentor the call centre staff through their progression into onsite consulting. During this time, Gael qualified as an Adult Education Trainer as well as qualifying as a professional Facilitator.

After successfully leading this team for three years, Gael moved on to work solely in the skills development area. During her time working with skills development in the workplace, Gael delivered training sessions in a face-to-face environment, through online training portals, one to one management training sessions as well as telephonic coaching. It was also during this time that she managed the release of a completely online training and assessment system.

Gael has diploma qualifications in Accounting, SQL Server Database Management, Microsoft Office products, Database Management, Advanced Networking, Business Etiquette, Facilitation and Train the Trainer including Adult Education skills. In addition to these qualifications, Gael has 13+ years of experience in coaching and mentoring staff including a depth of experience in professional development across all areas of management and staff.

Since leaving South Africa in 2010, Gael has worked at the British International School in Riyadh where she was initially responsible for managing the internal IT structure within the school. From this position, she moved on to the Internal Skills team and was responsible for teacher systems knowledge as well as new teacher induction. Her last task at the school included rolling out a new accounting and purchasing system.

This included training planning and rollout over all the administration teams as well as training for all the teachers and other school staff members.

Gael believes that her coaching and mentoring experience as well as her personable nature and interest in others is her greatest strength as a trainer. She believes that an organisation is only as strong as its members and if you give people self-belief they will achieve and flourish.Activity-based interaction and connection during training will always result in good learning outcomes and ultimately strengthen organisational performance.
